I was diagnosed in 2001. I haven't had much success coping with the constant irrational thoughts and mood swings. I have an occasional good day, but most are tragically morbid.
I have four alters. Jessie; who is age 14. She is very afraid and doesn't come out too often. Yvonne; who is age 30. She is my strength, and is very mother-like. Trisha; who is age 16. She cuts me and drinks mass amounts of alcohol. And then there is Angela. She is age 19 and she has only come out once, but the one time she did, she tried to commit suicide. I have had Yvonne as an alter for as long as I can remember, but over the course of 8 years I developed the other three.
I have twins, a boy named Alex and a little girl named Avery. They are my world. Without them, my will to live would be nonexistant.
I lost my father to alcoholism when I was 16. We didn't have a great relationship. He was abusive to my mother and I. Although he was a horrible father, I still miss him. I still, to this day, have mixed emotions about his death.
