I was an addict for more than half of my life. Starting right into high school smoking weed and dropping acid to graduating high school while snorting both cocaine and heroin. I eventually started shooting up heroin after sexually being abused and raped by a cop who chose that instead of arressting me. I would have rather been arrested honestly. I have been in & out of nearly 2 dozen rehabs. I have been clean for about 8 months.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- I saw a shrink who put me on several med's then dropped me as a patient! I just stopped taking my antidepressant....by myself going on three weeks now....Bravo, Bravo!
Close Heroin Addiction & Recovery
Starting with weed, acid, x,to cocaine & heroin. I loved them so much I was doing them daily. It was then my life would never be the same. I lost my job, car, and family then I married a man 15yrs older who supported me with $ I needed daily. I got pregnant (methadone baby).I was in & out of dozens of rehabs, where I met a man & lived homeless with him for almost a year until I got preg with his baby. Now I am living back with my husband & gave birth to my ex's baby a little over 4 wks ago.
Treatments
- Suboxone Working / Worked
- I just stopped taking subutex and am on suboxone. I like them much better than methadone, however sometimes I feel like a fraud in NA groups, ya know? Government issued narcotics are still narcotics but they did keep me off the street while I was preganant, ya know?

Open Hepatitis C
I started shooting my dope instead of snorting it within an hour of being raped by a DEA officer after coppin'. My boyfriend at the time knew shot me up that night, but I never told him why I wanted him to do it for me. Long story short--he had Hep C & told me but cuz of what happen to me I didn';t care about contracting it or not. I just found out I have Hep C while I was pregnant. I just gave birth to me 2nd son last month...& I am fighting to stay clean for me and my 2 boys.
