Support Groups
Close Bipolar Disorder
Just diagnosed as bipolar after a lifetime of taking antidepressants that were no help. Msde me more depressed and in some cases suicidal.
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- Worked very well for anxiety, but doctors are reluctant to prescribe due to high addiction factor
- Celexa Not Working
- Did not work
- Haldol Not Working
- Turned me into a zombie
- Lamictal Too Soon to Tell
- Just started on this about a month ago. Fon't notice any change with the depression but I don't have manic episodes since I started on it.
- Risperdal Not Working
- Did not work
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Took it 2 different times. Made me suicidal.
Close Chronic Pain
I have fibromyalgia s well as 7 messed up dicks in my spine, plus arthritis, stenosis, degeneration of disks, bone spurs. UHMM I could come up with more but that's enough for starters.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- Had a reaction to this too.
- Flexeril Not Working
- I had a reaction when I took it.
- Lidoderm Not Working
- I have the patches for my bursitis and I can't say it helped. I don't bother with it anymore./
- Lyrica Not Working
- making me too goofy. I have fallen, and walked into walls on this drug. I'm on only 50 mg 2xday
- Marijuana Working / Worked
- I used to use pot for the pain and it really worked. Unfortunately circumstances now prevent me from using it anymore
- Naproxen Not Working
- I cannot take NSAIDS because of stomach problems
- Nerve Blocks Not Working
- Had at least 10 nerve blocks, epidurals, audio pain frequency ablations, trigger point injections.
- Neurontin Not Working
- Tok it for my FM several yeaars ago and it did nothing for me.
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Percocet works but doctors are reluctant to prescribe it due to the addiction factor, plus the Feds causing trouble.
- Physical Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- I do PT 2 x a week and it's too soon to see if it is helping.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- Have had a TENS unit for several years and it was somewhat helpful. But iiit was such a hassle to find the time to use it as well as making sure the batteries were charged.
Open Fibromyalgia
Have had FM for 30 years but never diagnosed until 8 years ago. When I'd go to the doctor and try to explain my whole body pain, he looked at me like I was nuts and trying to get drugs. I now have a more enlightened doctor and she is great.
Treatments
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- My beloved husband bought me a hot tub about 2 years ago. It has been a lifesaver for me. I would never make it through the winter without it.
- Cyclobenzaprine Not Working
- It works for me but after about 3 days, I get suicidal.
- Duragesic Patch Working / Worked
- 50 mcg just takes the edge off. Need a stronger strength. I am using it for my back not the Fibro.
- Effexor Not Working
- Didn't work
- Elavil Not Working
- Didn't work. Of course its's been years since I took it.
- Lyrica Too Soon to Tell
- taking 50 mg 2 x day. Not very helpful with pain but it sure gives me a buzz. I walk into walls, if I turn around I have to grab something to keep from falling. I have fallen quite a bit. The last time was down the cellar steps. I missed the last 3 and ended up on the concrete and hurt my knee.
- Neurontin Not Working
- Took for a couple of years but didn't work
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- Too much trouble for the amount of relief I get from it.
- Ultram Somewhat Helpful
- Taking the generic Tramadol, for breakthrough pain.
Open Bereavement
Type: Loss of a Partner/SpouseMy Beloved husband died on 8/24/07.We were married for the 2nd time on 2/23/07.He was the love of my life even when we were divorced. He believed that our union was ordained and blessed by God. Looking back at our history, I believe that to be true. It was love at first sight for both of us 21 years ago and that never changed. He was my gentle and so very handsome prince. He was a gentle man who was, generous, understanding, extremely intelligent, and would do anything he could to help another

- It's part of the grieving process that you have to go through to reach the other side
- Getting Angry Working / Worked
- I've yelled and screamed at him for leaving me. How could he go and leave me alone without him?
- Grief Counseling Working / Worked
- Just got a bereavement counselor. We had 2 meetings and it was helpful. I'm looking forward to our next meeting.
- Pets Working / Worked
- I have an 85 lb.lap dog, black Lab named Shadow. He adores me and I adore him. He is such a comfort to me. He jumps into bed with me. puts his head on a pillow and waits for me to rub his tummy. I put my arm around him and hold onto him. He is a warm body with a heartbeat that puts me to sleep. I love him very much.

- See a counsselor every 2 weeks that I look forward to. He is a big help.And helpd me put some things in perspective.
- Reading Working / Worked
- I've been reading eveery book I can get my hands on about loss of a spouse.
- Support from Friends & Family Not Working
- I have no support from my family and I have no friends. They all disappeared after the funeral.
- Support Groups Not Working
- There are no support groups around here that are accepting new members. How about that?
- Talking Not Working
- That is a large part of my problem. I have no one to talk to. Immediately after the funeral my hubsand's daughter cut all relationships with me and her aunts. I have no one close to Chuck to grieve with over him.
