Close Fibromyalgia

I have had problems with depression and fatigue most of my life and was finally diagnosedwith fibro 18 months ago. Also have degenerative disc disease. I am 58 years old and married with three grown children and two grandkids. I worked as a medical lab tech and went back to school for 4 year degree. I haven't worked for two years because of the fibro.

Treatments

Aqua Therapy Working / Worked

I love being in the warm water and the class is specific for fibro. It has helped a lot but due to surgery last year haven't gotten back to it regularly.

Cymbalta Not Working

Did not work for me. I changed from another anti-depressant that didn't work so am back on Prozac that works for depression. When on Cymbalta I was very crabby, said nasty comments to my family and wss still depressed.

Guaifenesin Working / Worked

I took this when I was diagnosed but it is too expensive so had to quit.

Heat Working / Worked

I slternate cold packs and Heating pad when I have flare-ups

Lyrica Somewhat Helpful

I've been on Lyrica since last fall. Helped at first but diesn't seem to halp as much now and have gained over 15 pounds.

Neurontin Somewhat Helpful

This helped some for anxiety but did not seem to work much for pain. I gained some weight when on this.

Stretching Working / Worked

I need to do the exercises more often but when I do them I feel better.

TENS Somewhat Helpful

My chiropracter used TENS on me until I went on Medicare and it was not covered
