Close Infertility
Type: Hormonal DisordersI have never been pregnant, but hope to have a family some day. I have been off bc for 2 years. My DH and I have been trying for 24 mos. I have PCOS and elevated FSH level. I have done 3 IUI's. Next it's probably onto IVF. I am 30 years old and have been married almost 3 years.
Treatments
- Artificial Insemination Not Working
- I have done three failed IUI's two with tamoxifen, one with bravelle.
- Clomid Not Working
- Clomid gave me terrible cysts which I only discovered after 3 months when i went to an RE. It also didn't get me pregnant.
- Metformin Somewhat Helpful
- I have been on metformin for my PCOS for almost two months. It seems to help a little with my appetite. I still haven't lost the 15 or so lbs I put on while on clomid.
- Progesterone Not Working
- Taking those nasty suppositories now after my second IUI. they leak out and are gross. they beter be working!
- Follistim Not Working
- Third IUI did not work either :(
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years and finally found one of the reasons why it hasn't happened a few months ago. I have PCOS and am currently in the middle of fertility treatment. My husband and I want to have children so badly and we are going to do whatever it takes to make it happen.
Treatments
- Clomid Not Working
- I was on clomid for 3 months and had terrible side effects. I gained weight, had hot flashes and was moody. It gave me terrible cysts and also DID NOT get me pregnant.
- Metformin Working / Worked
- I have been on metformin for 3 months. It has helped stablize my weight. I haven't lost the clomid lbs, but I haven't gained either. I still am not pregnant though!!!
- Progesterone Not Working
- I took this after my first IUI, which ultimately did not work. It had some annoying side effects and I went off of it as soon as I got my period and realized I wasn't PG
Open Adoption
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 2 years now. We have done 3 IUI's but could not get PG so far. I have always wanted to adopt and we are just now starting to pursue it more seriously. I want to be a Mommy, and hope somewhere there is a child who wants me to be theirs.
