I went to the pain dr. today for my neck and hoping that he could help me with my fibro pain. He basically told me that my fibro pain was all in my head and I could not possibly have it because I do not look sick!! How degrading and humiliating!! I then get home and tell my husband and he thinks so too. Now I am feeling really crazy and confused. He can not comprehend how someone my age could have so many aches and pains that I do!! I feel so very small and crazy!! I do not know anymore. I do not know what to think or what to feel!! I feel so alone and crazy!!!

Oh you sweet girl. I grieve for you having to experience the humiliation you have today. The reality is that it is not in your head! My latest doctor of the last two years never suggested it was in my head. He only wants to know where it hurts and then we go from there. My hubby never said so but I knew he doubted. My doc suggested I bring him with me since this is so common a problem in marriages with a fibro sufferer. My hubby has never doubted since! He has a whole new outlook and helps me and it has made things so much easier for me. Have you looked for docs through the NFA? they have chapters in many cities. You are in my prayers. I'm sorry you are going thru this and seems I am too, don't want to bring up with Dr....for same reason..you need fibro friendly doc. I found one in my state but it'll cost me $200-350 to see him. I have heard the way those #$@% dr's treat people, and experienced it myself. Tell hubby I'm a guy who hurts with mystic pains....but they are VERY REAL and I'm sure u will find Dr. that can see Fibro as REAL....I pray you do

You are not alone sweetie. I have experienced this to as a moatter of fact one doctor said I had a pain perception problem. Well, we all know that the pain is real and a fibro doc would be the best thing for you. Do an internet search or call the local hospital for a list. I'm sorry you have been humiliated like that.
