hey tatgirl, you caught my eye in the members section. My daughter has a couple of tattoos so the name "tatgirl" caught my eye. I was reading a couple of your journal entries. Hi, my name is Heather and I'm 24 y/o, living with Lupus. I was diagnosed when I was 19 and have been in and out of remission the last couple years. I've recently developed restrictive lung disease as well and I'm here to offer and receive support from those who understand.
Treatments
- Azathioprine Working / Worked
- Just started this drug April 2008, curious to see if it helps, no major side effects noticed yet...
- Methotrexate Not Working
- Took this for maybe 2 months give or take...it about killed me. I lost 40 lbs in a month and was sicker than a dog. I pretty much just stopped doing everything besides throwing up and having diahrea. Not the drug for me!
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- Works, no side effects
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Works great, doc is trying to wean me off of it though because of long term side effects
Close Raynaud's Disease
In 2003, I found out I had Raynaud's when I was a freshman in college....this diagnosis lead to my diagnosis of Lupus as well.
Treatments
- Procardia XL Working / Worked
- As long as I stay on this drug my Raynauds does not flare nearly as bad.
Open MCTD
I'm diagnosed with Lupus but my rheumatologist thinks that I have enough symptoms of other autoimmune disorders that I might have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease...
