About Me
I am a 31 yr old mother of 2. My daughter is 12 and my son is 8. My husband and I have been married for 7 years now. My son has aspergers autism and my daughter is unfortuantly still having to see her father. The biggest issue is that my ex-husband, 10 years after our divorce is just as coontrolling, abusive and mean as before. Only now, he tells my daughter things to make him look like the savior (ex: I wanted to have an abortion and HE talked me out of it) and my daughter has no clue what to belive.

Support Groups
Close Physical & Emotional Abuse
I am loking for others who need support but are tired of others not beleiving them or thinking they just want sympathy. I have come to figure out that no matter what is going on, the best friend you can ever have is yourself. Doing whatever you can to educate yourself and understand the things going on, the better you will feel. I have a very abusive ex-husband that is still as abusive as ever now to my 12 yr old daughter, my son has aspergers autism, i have fibromyalgia (but I don't like to admit it becouse of the stigma that goes with it) and I have had depression all my life, including most of my child hood in and out of hospitals and a long history of cutting myself. My husband is the only one sane enough to see all these things and not go running for the hills....although after a yr long court case for custody of my daughter and all the other craziness around here, he says he's ready to join the crazy side of the family..lol
Close Fibromyalgia
I have fibro since 2001 after a horrible pregnacy with my son. I have been on tons of meds and am now done to only 3 becouse I need the help with the depression and to sleep. I work in the medical field and I do ATON of research to try to gain as much knowledge and understanding as possible. I don't like sympathy and I don't like to bring others down. I am always intrested in making new friends and like to brianstorm with others.
Treatments
- Acupressure Somewhat Helpful
- painful but is helpful.need to find a really good dr who will forgive you if you "accidently" kick him once in awhile...lol
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- This is a good anti-depressant for me. I tend to act crazier on meds then off, but this med has been very helpful and does not give me the "drugged" feeling
Open Autism / Autism Spectrum
My son is 8 and has aspergers. We knew early on that there was something wrong when Nicholas wouldn't even sit in a different car seat. We did what we always do, tons of research and then trial and error to see what works. I have been approached by many parents about my son becouse of how well he seems to be on the surface. I tell everyone, you know your kid better then anyone else, forget what others say, do what works for you and your family. But its always great to bounce ideas off each other
Treatments
- Early Intervention Working / Worked
- We knew before Nicholas was a year old and we started out trying different things and keeping what works and ditching the ones that don't work but replace it with something else to try
- Pets Working / Worked
- Animals always bring out the gentle side of Nicholas and he loves them as if they are family.
