Unlike most of the people here in DS, I live in Europe. I joined here because I couldn't find any support group of IC in my own language, in Finnish. (My English isn't perfect but please try to ignore that...) As some of you might know, my home country Finland is in the North of Europe, between Sweden and Russia. I'm a teacher (I teach Finnish and Literature). I live alone but I do have a boyfriend who fortunately understands my migraines and other problems. Besides migraine I have a very mild irritable bowel syndrome and a probable interstitial cystitis.
Reading, knitting and other crafts, walking, skiing (cross country), foreign languages (English, Swedish, German, Spanish, Estonian), traveling, baking and cooking.

I don't think they really know, some kind of immune deficiency... you probably had it for years and finally are getting it looked at or diagnosed...I have had it l7 years... 80% of my bladder removed in l990 and over l00 day surgeries to have my bladder stretched and DMSO treatments...it is hard..get on a good pain med...see if there is a pain clinic in your area and speak to a specialist about it..they can recommend something and work with you to get the proper dose..it will all help...try vesicare it is good for sharp shooting pain.. :) Laurie
I feel a need to pee all the time, every second of the day. Fortunately I don't have to go more than 5 times a day. I don't have the IC diagnosed because according to the doctor my bladder looked normal in the cystoscopy.
I got my first migraine headache at the age of 11. I managed for a long time with mild painkillers but they stopped working when I was 25. Then at first I got naproxen and after that sumatriptan. Neither of those helped. Now I'm using Maxalt Rapitab and it works for me incredibly well.
