    About Me

I'm 41, married for almost 11 years, four step children, all older and out on their own. We have a six year old, who makes my life happier then ever. I was diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis and fibromyalgia a year and a half ago and have been using a study drug. So far, I feel pretty much the same, if not a little more worse. I try to make the best of it though. My husband is the greatest and supports me in anyway he can. I have one weiner dog, Barney, three cats and on stray hang out on our deck. We decided to call him Obama, because they look like purple lips. I'm here to talk and make friends. Occasionally, its really hard to be a step parent due to a radical step child who doesn't show much respect towards me. It makes me really sad, but I'm getting to the point where I've had enough. I'm worried I might say something I'll regret. Its a Loooonnnngggg story.

    Interests

walking, bike rides, hiking, water aerobics, children, animals, going to blues concerts, use to dance a lot but I'm too old now, I get tired easily and sore. darn it!! I love to boogie down. I love to read a good book, take hot baths, gardening, going on road trips and hanging out with my friends.

    • Close Step Families

Hi, I've been married for 11 years to a wonderful man. I have four step children, 31, 28, 26, 22. We also have a six year old together. I hope that I can vent on here with out feeling bad about it and it may help me feel better. I have arthritis and fibro, so I try to keep my stess level down. It's hard with a disrespectful stepson and his fiance who is 19. I'm also here to help give advice for others.

    • Close Rheumatoid Arthritis

I was diagnosed with athritis and fibro a year and a half ago. I'm on a study drug and methotrexate and take tramadol for pain. I'm really hurting today....like really bad. I'm here to talk to people and make new friends.

      Treatments

      Folic Acid Working / Worked
I'm not consistently taking it, so I' not sure if its working or not. My own fault.
      Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
      Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
    • Open Parenting Big Kids (5-8)

I have a six year old with four older step children who are out of the house. My husband and I have been together 14 years and our six year old is our whole life right now. We cherish each and every moment. My husband had a reversal and we were pg in two months and he had had his vassectomy like 20 years ago, so it was a major blessing.

    • Open Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS)

I had gbs in 87 and was completely paralyzed. I was in icu for a few days and then at the hospital for a few more days in a private room. I had plasmapherisis procedure to help and it did. It took me a year to recover completely and my smile was the last thing to come back. I fell down a lot and had to use a wheelchair and a cane. I was in my early 20's when it happened and now I'm 41. It was scary for me and my family. I hope I can help someone if they are going through this.

      Treatments

      Plasmapheresis Working / Worked
I didn't like the procedure and laying in one spot for along period of time. the nurses and staff were so nice to me and my family, so it helped me feel better having such nice people around me.
