We were going to head to Freemont today for some artsy stuff, but it turns out the Freemont Festival is today and the traffic was backed up like crazy so we decided on Pike Place Market instead.  Maybe you've seen the fish stand where people throw fish or the original Starbucks.  Those are both there.  The market covers several blocks and there's every kind of fresh food you can imagine, plus street food vendors (it smells sooo good), art, jewelry, clothes, fresh flowers whatever.  I loved it and I was worried that I would feel anxious in the crowds, but it didn't bother me.  It was a fun atmosphere and I can't wait to go again.  We made the mistake of eating before we went.  Next time we'll go hungry and try as much street food as we can shove into our stomachs.  Lots of ethnic food, pastries, regular fried American food, just everything.  I posted a few pictures. 

Downtown Seattle reminded me of NYC or Chicago except hillier.  There are lots of restaurants and all the chain stores you can mention except instead of being in a mall they're on big city streets.  If I were going to do a big shopping day I'd head downtown instead of to the mall.  It's a good place to people watch, very urban feeling.  I liked it.  I'm looking forward to exploring the city more.  Want to check out some pricey restaurants.  That's always fun.  As vegetarians
