Hi! Welcome to DS! I have spoken to adults with this and they say they can see and things dont move back and forth like you would think! My son went to the doctor abou the eyes shaking and we found out that he also has OCULAR ALBINISM and would be considered "legally Blind" I started him with vision therapy right away! I notice at times he will tilt his head to see things better and focus. The movement has slowed down over time.I find when he's tired or alot is going on..alot of visual stimulation his eyes move faster. There is a surgery that they can do but I would defintily wait for awhile and start w/therapy. It doesnt take it away it just slowes it down. It is pretty contraversial...I would defintetly do alot of research regaurding the surgery.Hope this helps. Beckie

hi, i am also a mother with a child who has nystagmus. i have only just found out about 2 weeks ago. the Ophthalmologist did not explain very much to me about this condition but she did say my daughters eyes move from side to side. she also has very strong glasses as she is long sighted due to having this. i have done some research on it but t would be better for me to actually have other peoples experience n mind. i would love to chat to parents who can advise me on what i can do to help my child.
