Diane, yes, it's an antique water pump. I found it at an antique store in Wisconsin and then when I got it back home I found one exactly the same at an antique store about 4 miles from me for LESS...lol. I need to put another coat of paint on it cuz the red is fading - I don't really want a pink pump. :)
that's really pretty. Hosta are the plants lining the sidewalk. And the ones behind the water pump. The are gorgeous. Mine don't stay that nice very long. It's to hot and dry. Even when I water all the time. Wish they would. Really nice Mary.
The hostas are the green leafy plants. Some of them are small and line the front and some are huge - like those around the red pump. Hostas like shade and my front yard is mostly shade so they do well there. I know what you mean though, Joni, about them not doing well if it's hot and dry. Shade is good though.
