    • Close Family & Friends of Cancer Patients

Lost my Mother-In-Law on April 5th, 2008 to lung/lymphatic/brain cancer. She underwent a 6 month battle that has been devastating for my entire family.

    • Close Chronic Pain

My husband of 4 years has Diabetic Neuropathy and is in constant pain. Doctors have tried a myriad of medications/treatments but none seem to work and those that seem to help at first wear off in a few days.

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Not Working
did not seem to offer any help
      Lidoderm Not Working
      caused an allergic reaction
      Lyrica Somewhat Helpful
He can tell when he misses it - the pain worsens; but it does not eliminate his pain.
      Neurontin Not Working
This drug worked well for a while, however in order for it to do so they had to put him on massive doses of the drug and the side effects were horrible. He was a zombie and very sensitive to light - if I turned on a light in a room without warning him, he would completely black out for a few seconds.
      Oxycodone Somewhat Helpful
was helpful but the doctors were concerned about potential liver problems so ended up taking him off of it.
      Keppra Working / Worked
It is similar to the Lyrica in that he has even more severe pain if he doesnt have it but it does not completely relieve his pain
    • Open Angina

      Treatments

      Imdur Too Soon to Tell
this was just prescribed to my husband on 4/23/08 and he begins taking it tomorrow
      Metoprolol Somewhat Helpful
Husband has been on this since Sept. 2006 and it seems to have helped somewhat. As of late he seems to be becoming weaker though much of this, I think, is a result of the recent loss of his Mother to cancer and the stress related to it.
      Nitroglycerin Too Soon to Tell
husband has prescription for it but refuses to use it - says it didn't work in the hospital when he had his heart attacks so why bother
    • Open Step Families

My husband of 4 years has a 13 year old daughter from his previous marriage. We have shared custody of her and it is sometimes a challenge for me not having any children of my own.
