Hello there' Gld you have seen the dentist- getting rid of the old metal (mecury) fillings is important, nd only 1 other filling is pretty good. Gingivitis can be treated with antibiotics. Important to keep up the saliva (I'm on meds which dry it up - have been over 20 years: this isn't a help) Seems things have advanced recently: so glad your dentist can help you - all you need now is the cash to pay for it all!!! I couldn't get into the Govt. Clinic for over 1 month - so will have to take my problem home with me: and find another dentist who is willing to do the minor op. in the chair - without all the "full catstrophe" - ie" day in Hosp., Friend to drive me home - morning , visits to anesthetist before the "op." - new X rays, and on & on. Not to mention the surgeon's fees. Man must think I'm printing the green stuff in my garden shed (& in Aust. the Green ones are the $100 bills!). Hope all goes well - keep me posted - I may be absent for a few days in transit, but will get back online soon. Best regards, JaneD.

Greetings Sound OfRain, How are things going with you? - have you got up courage to go & amke an apppt.with a Dentist yet? I really think you need to have the receeding gums checked out - there may be a way of preventing more damage: but after I had Vincent's Disease -(it's an anerobic infection of the gums-often called Treench Mouth) in the early 70's, my gums had receeded: Dentist said then there was nothing that could be done: but the disease itself was cleared up with antibiotics (they had to be flown into the State then). Do at least get a diagnosis, & find out if something can be done these days. Best wishes, Janed.

Greetings, Well, that's the end of that theory - I will hve to do an i-search on your new diagnosis - can you tell it to me again please. Have just bben on phone to nearest dentist - 72 miles - we are going down today to do some shopping - they won't see me - even to look at my gums & see I need a referral to Dental School Clinic in Perth (Capital). State Govt. waiting list 130 miles up the track (ie: the other way) is 2 months! Wht a bummer! Take care now, Best regards JaneD.

Greeting Sound of Rain, Wow, what an appropriate name you have - I've had rain in my ears for several days - am cxollecting it in buckets & boiling it - water from the Pipeline tastes Bad! I really don't know how I came to be here with this problem - the nearest dentist is 72 miles away-nd they are on holiday this week. I have only 1 tooth in my head - a lower eye tooth, & it's started aching, & I'm allergic to antibiotics. I'm not going to tell the dentist that, bec. he won't treat me - I'll get referred to Perth (the capital pop. 1.5million - terrifying place). The good thing is: This Stte is so swealthy from the minerals boom, they had a 2 billion State surplus last year: so - there is even a Denture Service for those on Social Security. I have not tld my daughter yet, but I've registered as a Sandgroper (that's a person from Western Australia) & will not move from here untill my mouth is fixed up & I have lower teeth!. So my dear: right now there's myself & yourself: and we are a new group of two. You are having receeding gums - you are not on a drug called dilantin are you - that's what began my descent into long, painful, & costly treatment - & being refused it. Ity's used for mild epilepsy - which I didn't know I had until a neurologist questioned me about flashing lights - and I told him that they really worried me! and on Dilantin I was put. After a year I had very sore gums - my family ?Dr. just said that they looked a bit red. The dentist said: stop that drug right now, & go to a specialist: your gums are a mess - I've seen a case where a man had his gums growing up -back over his teeth! Wow, I was msot impressed- he knew what he was talking about: sadly he was killed a few months later in a small aircraft accident - with 3 other dentists! - as if we don't have a shortage of them, that they can go travelling together in groups like that! And they charge the earth too! I must go back to your site & get the details: but you seem young to have these things happen - I must go - still have a case of gastritis: I got up about 5am a few days ago & drank a half-pint of the Pipe water: was pretty much asleep: now i Have sme gastric thing! I should be chained to the bedpost -second thughts -not! Best regards dear woman - I shall hear from you, & I shall talk to Doug. re. forming a group. "There must be more of us" said the little pink man - or woman. JaneD.
