      Treatments

      Asacol Working / Worked
Mesalazine and Rowasa enemas.... very embarrasing. NOT painful at all... directions are once before bedtime (HOLD AS LONG AS POSSIBLE--> UNTIL MORNING...) which only turns out to be like 30 minutes... 1 hour if I'm lucky.
Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
Lettuce, salads, and all other vegetables that I normally would eat. Grapes (skins), carrots, nuts... as I do not process these very well...
      Azathioprine Working / Worked
Dr. wants to start me on this drug very very soon... pending blood work to see if my body produces the enzyme needed to USE this drug.
      Azulfidine Working / Worked
Dr. prescribed this BEFORE I had my L. intestine removed in 2000. I don't remember seeing or feeling any improvements....
      Dietary Modification Working / Worked
LESS 'flavored' foods, and more bland foods. LESS FIBER!! Horrible feeling with FIBER. More breads.
      Entocort Somewhat Helpful
Switched health care plans in around 2004-05. New Dr. prescribed this to me, I notices a slight difference in 'symptoms'.... but not anything significant worth writing more about - - then again, I didn't take it more than 3 months.
      Flagyl Working / Worked
I don't notice much of a difference, except in LESS GAS (pain, pressure, bloating, and gas pain)... and a bad bitter taste left in your mouth if you take more than a second to swallow that bill. 500mg, 4 x daily as needed
      Lomotil Working / Worked
Helps control the frequency of running to the restroom
      Prednisone Working / Worked
Helps with inflammation in the bowel, therefore causing less trips to the restroom
      Probiotics Working / Worked
Yogurt with Cultures, accidophilus, etc, etc.... tried them all... GARDEN OF LIFE Primal Defense, etc... ANYTHING 'GARDEN OF LIFE' (GOOGLE it!)
      Remicade Working / Worked
REMICADE was by far the best treatment for my Crohn's
      Surgery Working / Worked
      L. inestine removed in 2000, reversal surgery later that year. 'pouch procedure' done, with occasional 'flare-ups' from Crohn's
