Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed 9/07 w/crohns disease. It's been a rough road of rectal bleeding, bloating, stomach pain, hospital stays and lip ulcers. I am back and forth with taking prednisone which makes me a completely different person and look like a chipmunk. I just started Imuran so we shall see how that does. In and out of the hospital. I am ready to feel better and live my life again.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- sometimes it doesn't matter what I eat, I still get pain
- Dietary Modification Somewhat Helpful
- depends if I'm in a flare up or not
- Drinking Water Working / Worked
- definitely helps reyhdrate
- Lialda Somewhat Helpful
- Still have break through flare ups and take 3 pills a day
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Got me under control but the side effects are almost not worth it
- Probiotics Somewhat Helpful
- I thinked they made a difference
- Azathioprine Too Soon to Tell
- Just starting so answer COMING SOON....
Close Infertility
I have been trying unsuccesfully for 3 years to get pregnant. The last year however we took a break because I just couldn't handle the emotional rollercoaster. Plus my insurance doesn't cove much from the fertility doc. Then last year I got pretty sick and diagnosed with crohns which might have something to do with my issues I think.
Treatments
- Basal Thermometer Not Working
- did nothing for me. I did it for about 6 months every single morning
- Clomid Not Working
- Made me feel like I was on top of the world but did nothing to get me fertilized
- Folic Acid Somewhat Helpful
- I don;t really know if it is helping or not but still take it every day
- Ovulation Predictor Kit Not Working
- still not preggers
