My Daily Goal has Been Challenged This Past Month
Most of May has been filled with doctor appointments to make me healthy or at least stable. Why do doctors think they …
I had a checkup today with the Eye Doctor who said I do not need to come back until October.
The laser surgeries I've had (2 for the right eye and 1 for the left) for narrow angle glaucoma which came on suddenly after I was in an accident in March and received a concussion worked and are doing just fine. I do not need to use eye drops and my levels are well within the normal range as they were last year when I went for my annual checkup for diabetes and glaucoma issues. I had my usual annual appointment scheduled in March but the accident happened days before this and I kept my eye appointment and am happy I did because the pressure was just beginning to increase in my right eye but the left was ok. Within 3 weeks, the pressure and pain was so severe in my right eye that I could hardly see so I made an urgent appointment. The drainage system was totally closed in my right eye and the left eye pressure was climbing and so the fun began of laser treatment and eye checkups every 2 weeks.
I strongly recommend that if you have unusual or sudden eye pain, do not play with self diagnosing or you could loose your vision quickly.

I am VERY glad you went to the doctor. My dad has an eye disease Retinia Pigmatosa where the pigment in the eye is lost and eye pressure raises until about 20 then you lose your sight. The pressure in the one eye was already 17 upon dx. My mom started to give him Billberry and Lutein. It took two years but that eye is down to 14!!!! The doc said their was NOTHING he could have given him to keep pressure where it was at let alone reduce it. So keep up whatever he was doing. ( : I am only in early 30's but because more than one in family have these eye issues I already take occular vitamins.
I am glad your vision health is doing well too!!!
-Hope you have a wonderful week

Thanks for your ongoing support. I believe one of the biggest reasons people my age have many more serious health problems is because our parents' generations did not discuss their medical issues with the family members as commonly as my generation did so we could not use preventive management measures. I made sure my children (now 29 to 39) were well aware of what my husband and I were being treated for (and still do) so they could use the information in their own healthcare. I resent not being told until a parent died and then finding the medicine bottles hidden in the bureau drawer.
