About Me
It seems I update my photo according to my mood of the day (chuckle). I have several medical problems and would like to think they are somewhat in control. I take 17 pills daily (8 in the morning and 9 for dinner). I hate taking any medicine for anything. I received a concussion a few weeks ago and am having memory issues which also includes my medications. With my hubby living in a nursing home permanently, I am still learning how to be alone. The hardest time is bedtime. I lock my bedroom door and pull the covers over my head.
Interests
I love to sew and crochet. I love time with my grown children and grandchildren (6) especially when they are all together. It makes for a very noisy but happy crowd (sometimes). I do not see the need to be negative to another person verbally. Hurtful words never accomplished any goal.

Glad I droppped by on a good day by your pic. Dont think it is at all frosty? I am a member of this site, as of course are you. I am usually down in the posts section answering them as much as I am able to when not on another site, but have never looked around to see just who is on here so thought now I should. I change my pic often too but just by whim not mood. I had trouble with the agency the first time too when I found out at 37. Yes, was a bit of a shock. They couldnt find any records anywhere, private adoption. But through agency and lawyers. So eventualy gave up for years. Then our son got married, always been told I was an only, but wanted my med history as we all do, and thought try again in case any children now. Different people and this one was really good. Very soon thought, moved from state of birth at about 2 or 3 days old, did records go to that state? Yes they did, so got them back down there and all sorted out. Why no one else thought of it before goodness knows. But they were very interesting to say the least. Just shows what a bit of loving care can do. Did a lot for me. So if ever you feel like you need a bit of tlc, theres more than enough on this site to go round and so much support Betsy has worked on. If you need to talk about anything or want to post something please do so, love to hear from you in there. Want you all out enjoying and reading what others are saying and adding if you wish to. And as you say, hurtful words are not needed, and in all the time I have been going through posts you know I havent really ever seen one. Now thats love in action, and supporting each other. Maybe because here is a place we can call home where we understand each other.

Close Glaucoma
Did you know head trauma can raise the pressure levels in your eyes? This was a new experience for me because of an accident in March. For now, this problem is under control. I had laser surgery in both my eyes to open up the drainage systems and lower pressures. I no longer need to use drops and all seems to be working well. I see the eye doctor again in October.
Treatments
- Laser Surgery Working / Worked
- In the last 5 weeks, I had laser surgery on both my eyes and all seems to be in order. I have 1 more checkup this week and I'll let you know. Last year my levels were normal and 3 weeks ago my right eye was 28 and yesterday that level was in the 30s and the left was 29. My doctor strongly recommends laser surgery in 2 weeks for the right eye and then the left in another week.
- Timoptic Working / Worked
- I used Timoptic drops for 6 years for borderline glaucoma and it completely took my level to normal.
Close Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
I saw a new GI doctor on Monday who prescribed another dosage of Levbid. Of course, I have to have a colonoscopy to be sure all problems are being treated correctly.
Treatments
- Bentyl Not Working
- I had to go back on Bentyl because Levbid was not being produced any more by manufacturer. **This drug causes me vision issues and barely touched the problem.
- Imodium Not Working
- After taking 18 pills to be able to attend an event, I realized this was not happening for me.
- Levsin Working / Worked
- The dosage I had been on was pulled but the new GI change that problem and hopefully this lower dosage will take care of controlling.
- Lomotil Not Working
- Another quick fix but did not work for me past an hour.
- Peppermint Working / Worked
- Peppermint have always been a way to settle my stomach whether it be a hard candy or tea.
Open Diabetes Type 2
Diagnosed last year and am very careful of my numbers. Don't play with this disease!

- Dietary Modification Working / Worked
- Watch those carbs as they will catch up with you.
- Metformin Working / Worked
- Good control with careful diet planning.
Open Accidents
I was in an accident in March and thrown around slamming my head and shoulder/back. Now I am suffereing from Post Concussion Syndrome.

- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- I can only receive head treatments and they feel good.
Open Sleep Apnea
I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea 4 years ago but think I had it for many years prior and just didn't pay attention to the signs as I had little time to myself.

- I love the security of my mask. I call it my comfort zone.
Open Asthma
Type: Adult AsthmaI have recently added asthma due to pet and dust allergies. I miss my pets!
