Hi, my name is Jackie. I am happily married and a full-time mum to twin boys one of whom has severe learning difficulties. I had GBS in March 2008, as I was 256lbs and too tired to be the energetic mum I want to be.

The scales seem to have ruled my life since I was about 25 and now with my surgery on long term hold I'm just having to muddle through alone for a while.
You're feeling bad? what's up?
I read your reply to Chericline commitment discussion. You said you need help. I think we all need help to be honest. And you're right - it's not the quick fix tool we all thought it was gonna be. We still have to work at it. This website has helped me more than anything... Because I track everything I eat...I am in better control now. It's free. www.thedailyplate.com You just put in your weight, height, age, weight loss goal and it tells you how many calories you can have each day to acheive your goal. And there is so much more on there. Hang in there!! Janet

My surgery was carried out 15th March 2008. I paid for it privately and as a result do not think I was given much psychological guidance. Literally I had it done 5 days after enquiring!
I have twin sons who are both gorgeous. One is very bright and the other has severe learning difficulties. At present, he is 8 but still in nappies, has no real speech and basically chews everything! He has been tested for every diagnosis but to no avail. Thank goodness he is a joy and always happy.
