It was a "cannot resist" moment yesterday when picking up groceries, when I also picked up flowering spring bulbs.

It is both sad and disappointing whenever  I do this, when the bulbs or plants die before I get around to planting them.

Today, however, is a day to celebrate! First, I did not overbuy, but only bought a very manageable number of plants. Second, I made a commitment to my Facebook friends to do it today, and then went outside at dinner time and did plant the plants. The planting included using nice, rich, and dark-brown soil from the lower layers of my compost bin.

The flowers look stunning together. Yeah!
