I have to vent a little. After my skin biopsy came back positive, a friend of mine finally took her dog to the vet for a bad rash that would not go away. That visit the dog got the dx of lupus and was given all types of meds to help the poor pooch. I am amazed that the price we spend for visits, labs, drugs, etc. and we cannot receive relief as soon as a dog. Pretty ironic. I am also tired of dr's acting like patients are morons. I respect the fact that they made it through medical school, but their degree doesn't automatically make everyone else an idiot. That derm. would dance around all of my questions and not look me in the eyes. I hate to say this and most people will think that I am crazy, but I am not going to take the Plaquenil. While I am waiting for the great rheumy to answer questions and handle my treatment, I am going to do things my way. The fungal and candida cleanse will begin tom. Flax seed oil, B complex 100 and biotin will become mainstays again. I don't see why I shouldn't do what I know works for my body while waiting and watching the clock. I will also make an appt. with a acupuncturist to aid in smoke cessation and to look at my DHEA levels. I have used all of the same brand name on the cleanses they work and I have not had a bad reaction. I cannot explain how better I feel after maintaining my diet and cleansing. I believe my immune system reacts the way it does because of toxins. I am changing all of my cleaners to natural (they smell so much better, no headache) and in the process of drastically reducing the toxin level of my environment. Will it work? It will be interesting to see. I plan to journal everything. Destressing is also an important factor in MY treatment. I have to get on an exercise program soon. Quit smoking. Big plans..... I guess I shall see.

I'm a big animal lover, but that is just insane! There are some good doctors out there, I just think unfortunately your dermie is not one of them. My first dermie was horrible also, due to the office location, I think she was used to treating wealthy and spoiled teenage girls who had gotten a hormonal zit before the prom and clearsil wasn't cutting it for them. I felt that is how she treated me, but I was a hard working 32 year old woman with huge blistering and inflammed sores on her face. I just think when you see a specialist of any sort they should know their business. I wouldn't expect my dentist or opthamologist to figure it out, but feel like yelling out "hey lady, your a skin doctor-look into it! My second dermie was a blessing, he got to the bottom of it right away. As far as the Plaquenil goes unless you have an allergy towards it, it is very mild, but I was told when I was taking it that it would take 8 months to confirm if it even worked for me. It was my rheumy that prescribed the Plaquenil for me, not my dermie, so you could still get that if that is what you need from them. I've been doing a lot better and no longer take the Plaquenil. I've never done a cleanse as you mentioned, curious as to what is involved in that. Sounds beneficial. I hope truly your day gets better!
