Close Epilepsy & Seizures

I was diagnosed with Epilepsy (Petit Mal) when I was four years old. I gradually stopped having them when I was eighteen. Unfortunately, just two weeks before I began college I was in a really bad accident which caused my seizure to reoccur and change into Complex Partial. I am now twenty-eight years of age, and my seizures have progressed to a mixture of tonic clonic and complex partial seizures for the last four years. It limits my life, but does not control me.

Treatments

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful

Depakote Not Working

Worked for three months, then I had terrible stomach aches and gained an incredible amount of weight. Took two years to wear off even after I stopped taking the medication.

Dilantin Working / Worked

Only used in the emergency room.

Keppra Working / Worked

Worked for a while, now wearing off. When I am on my cycle, does not work at all. I feel nauseous a lot.

Tegretol Not Working

Extremely bad alergic reaction. Seizures increased a dangerous amount! Had to stop taking even at the lowest dose!

Topamax Too Soon to Tell

Just started taking...very sleepy all the time.

Zonegran Working / Worked

Worked for a couple of months, then wore off.
