I'm feeling like myself again! Mood
Thursday, June 26, 2008

Boy what a roller coaster ride! I actually felt good day! No pain and I had energy! It looks like I will be going into this weekend feeling half way decent. I don't have a lot on my plate in terms of commitments so that's a good thing.

I told my husband that I don't want to commit to anything for the rest of the summer. We have a few camping trips planned and a few family things and that's all I'm willing to commit too. Every summer it seems like I'm running from one thing to the next every weekend. I can't stand it!! Life seems to be going by at such a fast pace. I just want to slow down! Especially now that I'm aware of this virus taking over my body. I really need to take care of myself. It's funny when you find out something like this your priorities in life seem to shift. All I think about now is taking care of my body and mind. Money, clothes, cars, pools, vacations, jewerly, etc... mean very little when your potentially facing death. I guess there are positive things that can come out of a tragic thing.

Having a greater appreciation for the simple and more important things in life.

Okay, I'm rambling!! I just got really tired. I'm off to bed!! :)

Lisa, you are so right that you and 90% of us need to just slow down. We are all moving so fast that we are missing out on so much. When my kids graduated from high school I started backing out of a lot of things and it has been very therapeutic to just not be running helter-skelter all the time. I'm so glad that you are feeling better today!!

We live in a society that thinks if you're not running all the time, you're either lazy or disinterested. One of the glories of getting older is that I can slow down and nobody really thinks much of it. Us OLD folks have it made. A friend taught me many years ago that sometimes, less is more. Keep the faith.
