About Me
My relationship with teenage son is volatile and my coping skills are decreasing. I have no bargaining power and positive reinforcement is just taken advantage of....feel like im losing it. My 'lifestyle choices' are being thrown in my face and he blames me for his corrupt behaviour. The respect is gone for both of us.

Close Parenting Teenagers (12-18)
The relationship with my son has become volatile and we fight daily. He talks a good story but I usually find out he hasn't been doing schoolwork and chores mean nothing to him. I keep threatening to throw him out and feel the threat is counterproductive because of the resentment on both sides. His father won't help parent and I'm looking for alternatives.
Treatments
- Patience Not Working
- The more calm supportive and patient i become the home is calm but he takes advantage the first opportunity.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I messed it up by not following the structure suggested.
- Yoga Working / Worked
- cant go often enough to tell if it works.
Close Gay Parenting
Been 'out' to my teenage son the past 3yrs...thought he handled it pretty good but during our rough patch he's thrown it in my face. It's hurtful and disappointing but coming from a 17yrold boy makes the sting go away fast.
