About Me
I am the mother of 3 grown children, I work full-time as the raw materials planner/buyer at a tire factory, and I have fibromyalgia. My husband is retired/disabled (after 30 years as a construction superintendent) who was shot in Vietnam, and now has diabetes and Hepatitis C as a result of his wartime service. He started treatment in April, and he will have the all-important 12-week viral load test on June 20th.
Interests
Outdoors--camping, fishing, and my husband introduced me to pheasant hunting. In college, I was a state champion bicycle racer, but now can't do too much. I also like collecting rocks, and create jewelry from the tumbled ones.

Close Fibromyalgia
Diagnosed about 5 years ago (after being diagnosed with "tendonitis", "low back pain", depression-but the dr. had NO idea why the inside of my knees hurt!) I work full-time, and my husband is currently taking the treatment for Hepatitis C. I am TIRED of having pain, yet very little helps, and any stress causes all the symptoms to flare up. If I hear one more person try to tell me that their supplement "cures" fibromyalgia, or "lack of exercise causes fibro"--I will SCREAM.
Treatments
- Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
- Helps me relax some in the evening--MAY be helping sleep.
- Cymbalta Not Working
- my depression worsened--had to go to Lexapro.
- Lyrica Somewhat Helpful
- The sleepiness was too much--I was not able to function at work, so the minor improvement was not worth the difficulty the side effects caused.
- Ultram Somewhat Helpful
- Can take the edge off when joints and muscles are really bad.
- Vitamin B12 Too Soon to Tell
- Xyrem Working / Worked
- Has made a HUGE difference in the quality of my sleephave had the most improvement from this than anything. Im not aware of any side effectsit just helps me sleep.
