About Me
Hi I am a 38 yo mother of 3. a 10yo daughter and 5 yo twins, boy an dgirl. I was diagnosed with FM aprox 5years ago and it has been a battle for a long time for me to make it day to day. I also had guillain barre' syndrome twice in 88 which i think is the reason for my FM. I have a wonderful and supporting DH and my children are very understanding too about mommy hurtting most of the time. I am friendly outgoing and love to talk on the phone. I am here to create a support network for my FM and meet other people with it, and share stories and friendship.
Interests
I love to read , watch movies, listen to music, do cross stitch ( when i can and i am still learning) and i love online poker. Oh and i love to get out and about and drive places i havent been before. i also love to talk on the phone.

Close Fibromyalgia
Hi i am a 38 mother of 3 kids, 2 being 5yo twins which is difficult to deal with. I have fibromyalgia and deal daily with not only that but neuropathy, carpel tunnel, arthritis, emphysema, COPD, depression and bi-polar disorder. I currently take a lot of medication but am listing the main ones here. I will be trying lyrica hopefully within the next week, i only have to wait for my doctors office to get preapproval from my health insurrance provider. wish me luck.
Treatments
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- when my joints and muscles are really inflamed i find that a heating pad or a hot bath and a nap afterwards can really help my pain level.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- doesn't work for me
- Ultram Working / Worked
- it helps out a little but right now i am just taking it as a help for breakthrough pain.
Close Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS)
I had guillain barre' in 1988 and now have fibromyalgia. I had the guillain barre' not once but twice. I think that is the cause of my fibromyalgia now. When i finally made it to the hospital i was on my death bed.
Treatments
- Plasmapheresis Working / Worked
- I had to go through 2 cycles of plasmapheresis but it helped out so much.
- Supportive Care Working / Worked
- i was on life support for 5 days and it helped. it kept me alive.....
