my name is melanee i work in a nursing home, i love people and helping others. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS AND HAVE SO MANY ???? REGARDING TBI'S. I FOUND THIS WEBSITE AND REALLY THINK IT CAN BE HELPFUL TO ME AND SUPPORTIVE. I AM 36 AND MET A RESIDENT AT A NURSING HOME THAT I WORK IN. HE IS BECOMING MY LIFE, AND WANT HIM SO MUCH TO PROGRESS IN LIFE. I WANT TO HELP HIM GET HIS LIFE BACK IN ORDER. I JUST WANT TO SEE HIM SMILE AND SHINE AGAIN!!!!!!! ONE DAY AT A TIME IS ALL I CAN ASK. TO LIVE IS TO LOVE AND TO LOVE IS TO LAUGH

OUTDOORS, SWIMMING, CAMPING, HELPING PEOPLE..........I LOVE TO SEE EVERYONE SMILING, I KNOW EVERY DAY IS A STRUGGLE FOR ANY NORMAL HUMAN BEING BUT LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDECINE OUT THERE!!!!

Close Brain Injury
there is a particular guy in the nursing home who was in an accident 5 yrs ago causing a TBI. he has pretty much given up and deals with great anger issues. everyday i go to work early to spend time with him, i am the only one he has not lashed out at. i even go on my days off to spend time with him. i really need some advice and direction to turn. i want to help him in the worst way to get stronger and have the drive to live again!!!!

i am a caregiver in a nursing home and it absolutely sucks how some of the residents get treated. i have to really watch my steps and what i say b/c it is my job. i am close with alot of the residents and their family members. there is one particular resident who i have become extremely close with and he is only 40 and has a brain injury! they pulled me off as his personal caretaker, they say they did it to protect my job. now i have to watch him go through neglect every single day.
