So I have been trying to put together a benefit in Ari's memory, my sister mentioned that we (the people putting it together) could be called Ari's Angels, just hearing that made me smile..so here's my plan....Annual SIDS benefit in memory of Arihanna, the proceed would be to get “the SIDS survivor guide” (it was a great book that helped me so much after Ari passed away) I want to make the book accessible right away for the parents so I’d like to get some printed in Arihanna’s memory and put them with the SIDS packets they give parents at the hospital, I’d also like for a couple to be donate to the local libraries and local support groups. I would also like for the funds to be donated to the SIDS of PA organization and some to Dr. Hannah Kinney in Boston, she believes that SIDS is a disease, and that there is a defect in the brainstem, so the babies serotonin levels are not regulated, serotonin helps to regulate breathing, and it also helps to signal that you are breathing Carbon Dioxide, but because of the abnormality the babies aren't getting the message. So I would like to help her in her research to find an answer. So my question to you is where do I start to make this thing happen?? I am so clueless, I want it to me like a card party or a casino night…but I haven’t decided yet, and truly I am kind of lost on what I need to do to get things started, if you have any suggestions or even just some direction that would be great. Me and Emily(my sister) have been thinking and talking about it, but I think we need some opinions. I don’t plan to have the event until maybe March 2009. Let me know what you think? We were going to call it Ari’s Angels…1st Annual Arihanna Tate Memorial Benefit, we’re not quite sure about the 2nd part but I love the Ari’s Angels part. let me know what you guys think! Perfect Name: Ari's Angels..So Sweet. Maybe in the next part could be at the end after Memorial "To Benefit SIDS Awearness & Research" It might bring in more folks. Just a thought.
