I have noticed lately that a lot of people, when responding to discussions in the anxiety support group, that instead of writing positive feedback or advice, they go into long diatribes about themselves!! It's so frustrating. I know that when I write for help, I want something encouraging. Something to lift me out of the dark place but when I read some of the replys, it feels like there are people who want to make sure that because they are in a dark place that everyone should be. It's really sad.

I think, often, people think it is actually useful to give their experiences as well, they truly do. I have a very dear friend who does this all the time, but she IS really loving and giving - she just thinks that by telling her tales she is making everyone feel better. It is a little like - someone says....Oh goodness, my knee is hurting today - and the person sympathetically says..oooooh I know how that feels, and then goes into details about their kneee *chuckle*...........which is why I usually say I'm fine, even if I'm not...lol .. if everyone had counselling training, then they would be different, but I dont honestly think this will change.....and there you are, I'm going into MY experiences as well...lolol.....take care my friend....Cathrynn XXXX
