Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI've been suicidally depressed for the last 27 years. I have severe hearing loss in both ears. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet that prevents me doing even normal daily activities, let alone go out and join a social group or exercise. Grocery shopping is strenuous enough. I have no friends. My family is tired of my depression and won't talk to me unless I'm feeling really well. I have no stress relief.
Treatments
- Celexa Somewhat Helpful
- Made me sleepy
- Desipramine Working / Worked
- It gave me energy but started to make me manic.
- Effexor Somewhat Helpful
- I hated the "bug-zapper" feeling.
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- Works quite well with very mild, if any, side effects.
- Prozac Not Working
- A placebo would have worked better! No effect, good or bad, from the medicine. Strange...
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- Support from Friends & Family Not Working
- Have no friends. Family refuses to talk to me unless I'm feeling well.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Works well as an occasional boost during very high stress.
- Writing Not Working
- Same old thing over and over - depressing
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Worked well until the vivid dreaming side effect kept me from getting enough rest.
Close HPV
I have had HPV for 17 years. I had an abnormal pap smear in Feb 2005. The cells went from pre-dysplasia to high-grade dysplasia in three months. I was scared!!! I know cervical cancer is very treatable and I didn't have cancer yet. However the rapid cell growth scared me.
Treatments
- Colposcopy Working / Worked
- I had an abnormal pap smear in Feb 2005. The cells went from pre-dysplasia to high-grade dysplasia in three months. I was scared!!! I know cervical cancer is very treatable and I didn't have cancer yet. However the rapid cell growth scared me. My doctor performed a LEEP procedure on me in May 2005. My pap smears have been normal since - even with the extra test that makes pap smears more sensitive.
- Aldara Working / Worked
- See above. After the warts started coming back I went to my gynecologist and she prescribed Aldara. A tube of that cleared up the warts. It took several weeks but it worked and the warts didnt come back.
