That Damn Botts Ave.!!! Mood

Saturday, June 28, 2008 | A Frustrating story

Well, it's Saturday morning and I'm sitting at the table in the diningroom writing a grocery list. My husband had just gone out the back door to cut the grass. I hear a crash and scraping sound, and I think maybe it was the lawn mower starting up and hitting a tree root or something. But because of the street I live on, I get up and look out the front door. There in the street is a wrecked car in front of my neighbors house. I holler downstairs and my son-in-law comes running. We both run out front and the guy in the wrecked car is out on the sidewalk on his cell phone. We go take a look, and of course it was our car that he hit! He hit it pretty hard because the rear left wheel in shoved up under our car. We are pretty sure that the axle is broken. He was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry and his car was really messed up. The right front was smashed and the wheel was broken off and laying flat under his car. I ran downstairs to tell my husband, he was still in the garage, he ran out front and I called the police to report it. That guy told us that he didn't have a license and that wasn't his car and he has 2 little kids and he doesn't want to go to jail. He was trying to get us to let him go, he said he called the owner and she was on her way. We said, " sorry, can't do that, we have to abide by the law!" Soon the police show up and then the owner of the car shows up. We all exchange information, the car is towed away and off they go. We have to wait for Monday to have ours towed. What a pain!!! I have lost count of all of our vehicles that have been hit while parked in front of our house! Of course all of the neighbors came over to talk. We said," just another day on Botts Ave!" I was looking for some excitement for today, but that's not what I had in mind! And to think it all happened because he said he was messing with the car stereo! GO FIGURE!

Sorry about the car. You have to be thankful that it was parked and you weren't in it. Hope you enjoy the fourth of July.

at least u guys have a sweet rental car taking ur asses to the beach on the 4th. :)
