Stormy Day! Mood
Thursday, June 5, 2008 | A Rambling story
Boy, am I glad yesterday is over! What a frightening day it was! We had back to back to back storms all day and all night! Beginning around 3pm the first storm hit! The power had been going off and on already for about 30 minutes. It never fails, if it storms on a weekday, it's always right when the kids are supposed to be getting out of school. It was pouring and really windy so I looked out front to see if there was anyone around. I saw about 4 kids from the Middle School down the street running by. I wanted to offer them cover from the storm, but they were on the other side of the street and running too fast. I hope they didn't have far to go! From that point on it stormed! I have never seen so many tornado warnings in one day, ever in my life! I turned off the computer because of the power surges and headed for the kitchen to listen to the radio. I couldn't watch the news on TV because we lost our  satellite signal. Now I was hoping we wouldn't lose our electricity too. Thank God I knew where my walkman was, just in case! I couldn't help but wonder if that was ALL of our Angel Babies up in heaven causing a ruckus. If it was I hope it was some fierce playing because it sure was loud! So we sat and watched Doug Hill on channel 7 until almost 11:30pm. He kept issuing tornado watches everywhere, north, south, east and west of us and once right here in Prince William County. A tornado hit Chesepeake Beach in Maryland and caused some major destruction. In Annandale Virginia a huge tree fell on a pick-up truck and injured the driver and killed the passenger. How horrible!  Then we heard that people were being electrocuted because of all the downed power lines. I haven't turned on the TV yet this morning to see what else went on yesterday and lastnight. I wonder what has Mother Nature so upset? It has been a strange year so far with all of these deadly storms. I am feeling sad for all the people that have lost loved ones, their homes and their businesses. I pray for God to give them strength and guidance toward a better, brighter future!!! You may wonder why I chose pink for this journal entry? I felt I needed something bright and cheery after yesterday. My daughter April has a story to tell about yesterday's storms too, I hope she writes a journal entry. HINT, HINT Well, it's a sunny day today and I know all that rain has made the vegetable gardens and flower gardens happy! And now we are in store for the hazy, hot, humid days of summer................ and it's not even summer yet!!!
