Sunday, June 8, 2008 | A General Update story

Well, we survived our first mall trip yesterday.

We went to JC Penney's to have the babies' pics taken....they turned out ok...was not impressed with the people working there though so probably won't go back. We were a little late for our appt and were rushed thru our photo session. Granted they are only 1 month old and can't do much by way of posing but would have liked a little creativity from them especially since the pics were expensive.

I think we will try Sears next time and then there is a kids' photo place in the mall called Sadies that looks really cool but expensive....so will maybe try them at their 6 month and 1 year ages.

I was so paranoid about people wanting to touch the babies but in general people kept their distance....we got stopped alot because of the double stroller and two "tiny" babies in them....I loved it because the first question out of everyone's mouth...."are they twins?" after about the 20th time....I wanted to say "no they gave us an extra one at the hospital and we thought we would just keep it." ..and then Lily's seat is pink and she had a pink blanket on and Ronan's is blue and he had a blue blanket on and people would ask..."2 boys, 2 girls, or one each?" Hello??? I know see why there are websites with t shirts and onesies saying..."yes we are twins and no we aren't identical." and the ones they say "boy" and "girl" on them.

The best part was that here I am pushing this mondo double stroller around the mall and people expected me to move for them....there was a group of girls the literally walked right into the stroller because I would not move....I am like hello, do you see me pushing this big ass thing and you choose to walk right toward me? I am normally no where near confrontational but I was ready to go off on the idiots yesterday....was it just me???

All in all, they had a good day and I don't see any runny noses or anything like that so we are good I hope. At least until they go to daycare!

I always say when people ask if they are twins "No but I did have them at the same time" The look on their faces is priceless...lol. LAst time I went to the mall I actually had some women with her baby in her stroller shove by me so she could get by me on the elevator first and then let the doors close on us! I was speechless. People can be so rude. I guees she thought I was going to take up too much room in there so she better get on first so she doesn't have to wait.

We get stopped all the time too. ANd we look like pepto bismol threw up all over us and we still get asked if they are boys or girls! My response to are they twins is close to yours...No, The hospital was having a buy one get one free sale and I just can't pass up a bargain!

Congrats on a successful outing! You may want to google baby pictures - I did and have started a file on all of the poses and creative backgrounds that I like - I plan to take them with me to the kids photo sessions so I can have some input on what the pics will look like in the end. Enjoy those precious babies - soak it up and find ways to lock these precious first months in your mind forever - it will fly by.

THat stinks that you didn't like the JCP pictures. I get ALL my pictures there (with the 3.99 a sheet coupon!). I hear the "are they twins" w/ my two oldest and I have to constantly tell pepole that they aren't!!
