      I have suffered from Fibromyalgia for a LOT of years. I have many accompanying disorders. I also suffer from diabetes and asthma. I just recently got diagnosed with CFS and have no idea how to live this way.

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Not Working
      No real improvement
      Klonopin Somewhat Helpful
      Took this for my panic/anxiety for years. It helped mildly, but never got my anxiety under control.
      Lexapro Not Working
      No real improvement
      Pain Management Clinic Somewhat Helpful
      Had some tender point injections, didn't really help. did some physical therapy. that helped a little.
      Ativan Somewhat Helpful
      About as helpful as Klonopin. No big difference.
      Luvox Somewhat Helpful
      Seems to help a good bit with depression
      Geodon Working / Worked
      Very helpful for my obsessive/compulsive tendencies
      Hydrocodone Working / Worked
      Very helpful for acute flare ups.
      Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
      Excellent for keeping my cholesterol under control.

      I'm 37 years old and wondering if I may be into perimenopause. I've had horrible hot flashes for a few years now, unexplained. I also have times when I'm very shaky and feel horrible. I'm in the CFS group and they suggested I join this group and get some advice here. =)

      Treatments

      Neurontin Not Working
      This was tried on me for mental reasons about 5 or 6 years ago. It had a very bad side effect of causing blackout periods... where I was still awake and doing things, but I didn't remember any of it. I remember two specific blackouts. One I was writing an email to someone and when I came back to myself, I'd written a whole section of words that didn't go together. Another time during a blackout I apparently put on an EXTRA pair of panties and wore them around all day until I realized it.

    • Open Fibromyalgia

      I've suffered from Fibro symptoms for over 18 years. It took 13 years to find a doctor who finally said "It sounds like you have Fibromyalgia!". I'd never even heard the word before. Even though I take a list of my symptoms to EVERY new doctor. I lost a lot of faith in the medical system because of it.

      Treatments

      Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
      I absolutely HAVE to take this every single day or the super tight knots in my neck and shoulders cause an excruciating tension headache that's just like a migraine... nausea, super sensitivity to light and sound, lasts for up to 16 hours or more.
      Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
      Mildly helpful. Not enough to bring my symptoms under control.
      Effexor Not Working
      Took this one for a long while but it really didn't help. And the withdrawals were HORRIBLE if I forgot to take my meds one day.
      Elavil Working / Worked
      This seems to be working to help my tension headaches, when used in conjunction with Flexeril and Vicodin.
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
      This tends to help a little with my excruciating tension headaches that stem from the rock-like muscles in my neck and shoulders. But it's not enough alone. I have to massage the area and take pain meds and Flexeril as well, then lay down for a while.
      Neurontin Not Working
      Had a BAD side effect on this. Blackouts while I was still awake. Very bad mojo!
      Ultram Not Working
      This was like taking nothing. It didn't help me at all.
      Zocor Working / Worked
      Truly helps my cholesterol level.

    • Open Diabetes Type 2

      I was diagnosed with diabetes, Type 2, about 3 years ago. Since I started taking the Glucophage/Metformin, my a1c's have been at and below Diabetic levels. My last a1c was a 5.7! (this is despite the fact that I still eat sweets, even though I know I shouldn't)

      Treatments

      Metformin Working / Worked
      Has been EXCELLENT for me.
