    About Me

Hello, I was born in Detroit and grew up in Detroit and Livonia. I went into the U.S. Air Force and married Kathy while at my third out of four Air Force Base assignments. After the military service I settled in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area where we've been ever since. I was diagnois of Peptic Stomach Ulcers in December, 1980. I'am a high risk but not an extreme high risk to get stomach cancer because of this. This in part is why I shouldn't take any of those prescription anti-inflammatary drugs now this time of my life. I was diagnois of having Scoliosis (curvaure of the spine) about June, 1994. Somewhere between late 1993 to March, 2000 my immune system when disfunctional. My Lympocyte White Blood level went below normal and has been ever since. Last test was 8.5% when "normal" is between 20 to 40% of the total white blood cells there are in a person. Fast forward to summer, 2001. I did testing for my brother to be a bone marrow donor for him. He has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer. Well make a short story here, they took bone marrow from him, purge it and gave it back to him and he is still in remission. Conquently because I had unknown lesions on my lungs x-rays I couldn't donate bone marrow. I found out I have Sarcoidosis 5 months later in Janurary, 2002. Circumstancially this peripheral neuropathy, arthritis like symptoms, inflammatary pain in my legs, sensitive to sunlight, short term memory loss is all caused by Sarcoidosis. Since then I was told I have Fibroyglia, Asthma, and on and off Chronic Broncitis. Gary

    Interests

I always have liked Snow Skiing because that was something I did I was sucessful at doing. I don't read books as much as I could do, but read the newspaper about everyday. I watch about things on the news tv broadcasts. We have cable tv now, even though this is an expense we can do without. However I come to enjoy things on the Discovery and History Channels alot. There's not alot of interests I have because I have various forms of pain going on that's making me want to not take up doing more than what I'am doing now.

Hello, My name is Gary and to retype my story would take a long time. I previously joined Sarcoidosis Support Group here with Daily Strength. My "bio" is there and actually "my complete story" is not there because again it is so long. I just tried to summarized my health conditions over the years. One thing I should add though. I DON'T have a computer. I have no money to buy one let alone have money pay for internet service. I'am writing this at one of the public libraries here in Michigan.
