I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism (Grave's Disease) this past October. My levels were so high the only treatment offered was to take medication. Said my levels were too high to do surgery or do the radioactive/iodine treatment. My heart rate was 130 at rest. I take Toprol for the heart rate and Methimazole for the thyroid. I see an Endocrinologist every 4 weeks. Each time they take lab work, with thyroid levels changing each time. The frustrating part is that each time my medication is "tweaked", it takes about a week to adapt to the change. Sometimes it leaves me feeling depressed, other times anxious. This is a very strange disease:)
Anyone else out there ever feel as frustrated as I do? If so, how do you deal with it?

I have had a good couple of days. Went to the Endocrinologist last Friday for my 4 week check up. Last month I was back up to the "hyperthyroid" level. Friday I was at just above the hyper level. The month before that I was at mid-range "hypo". Stress definetely affects my levels. Trying to keep that under control. I certainly do not want to have RAI. Keeping the faith.......
