Thanks to everyone that commented on my journal.I dont know whats wrong with me,but i still have not taken my medicine.I have been in constant panick lately.I am running low on my xanax,so i have been trying to get through them on my own,not working to good, just making matters worst. My doctor dont like xanax so she would not refill them for me.I called for an apointment but cant be seen till the end of the month.I dont think i can start over with a new doctor,it took me a long time to get where i am now.I really dont know what to do.
Maybe you will find that having a new doctor might be good 4 u. I take Xanax (for about a year now) and it is a good med.
I hope you get the help you need. LOTS n LOTS of love,

Just to let you know Im on effexor and it has helped me so much!! If you dont wont to change doctors how about a medicine change?? Think about it!! One difference in the medications is I think xanax is more to take during the attack but you have to take effexor everyday and keep it in your system. It is a seritonin booster. Nene

Oh boy do I know what you're going through! Doctor changes and med changes... very stressful in it's own right. What you should do though, is call your current doctor's office and let them know how dire your situation is, and that it would just be a short appointment and can't they squeeze you in? If they say "no", then ask them to at the very least, pass the message to your doctor, and let HER decide whether she wants to squeeze you in or not. I hope it works out for you my dear. Brenda

Rita,i agree with Brenda9,i would call the doctor office and let them know that you need to be seen. After all this woman IS YOUR DOCTOR AND IS RESPONABLE FOR YOUR CARE AS LONG AS SHE IS YOUR DOCTOR AND GIVING YOU MEDINCE. I pray everything works out for you my friend,love,shea....

try talking to your doctor and tell her that you are comfortable with the xanax and that you have a fear of taking new medicines, if she doesn't talk to you about it and listen to you about the fears you have i would look for another doctor. i know how you feel ,i have that same problem and it is terrifying. love you oxxox lizzy

I have a friend who has xanax also.. She doesn't take it all the time, just when needed..
I guess I was lucky with my panic attacks, they went away when I found out I had a fear of dying in front of my kids..
I had to do things that were uncomfortable for me, a little at a time, until I got over them..
Thats about all I can suggest to you .. I also had to keep telling myself I am ok, I am ok, this will pass..
I believe our minds play such weird tricks on us.. We need to control the mind so these attacks don't happen..
Much good luck with this..

Yes, xanax is a really good med for panic just to take when needed. I agree with dizzylizzie that you should explain to the doctor you're comfortable with xanax. We know our own bodies and minds and know what works for us, so it's important to make our doctors respect that. In the meantime before you get to your appointment, make sure your vitamin B particulary B12 is topped up (I find that B12 supplements really help with the panic), and do all those usual things we do to get by - chammomile, lavender, breathing, relaxation... and of course us here on DS. Thinking of you xxx
