YellMY FATHER IS A FUCKING IDIOT ASSHOLE WHO DOESN’T FUCKING THINK!!!!!Yell

We have a 30 gallon tank, with 3 Dwarf Gouramis, 2 Dalmatian Mollies and 1 metallic 'super' fish.  We call him a super fish because for a time we did not take very good care of the tank nor did we feed him and another fish. Well, they both survived that 6-10 months time of that treatment, one was obviously sick towards the end and died not long ago. We had 4 Dalmatian Mollies but 2 died within the 14 day guarantee (died a little over a week apart...the second died a week after my uncle died...), and we just got store credit for them.

So apparently Dalmatian Molly 3 died, and was floating at the top near one corner. Well the other Dalmatian Molly was trying to nibble on it.

My father was sitting by the front door waiting for his Pizza Hut food to arrive which ended up arriving late. So he would tap the glass to scare the fish away...they would scatter but come back...so he would tap the glass again. This went on for 30-40 minutes (what the fuck was he thinking?????)

I come home from spending the evening with my mom and he tells me one of the fish is dead. I look in to get him and I look down and the other Dalmatian Molly and one of the Dwarf Gouramis is still on the bottom. They look dead. I go to get them and they start moving…so they are near death… But I can’t flush a fish that is still alive!! So they both go into the little floating breeder tank. They start off laying one on top of another. The Dalmatian Molly now moves a little along the bottom of the floating tank, but the Dwarf Gourami is on its side, not really moving, resting on the bottom of the floating tank.

The other Gouramis, who are usually very skiddish, suddenly aren’t.  I put the net down two inches from one, which normally would have sent it scatting before the net was fully in the water, but it wasn’t till I wasn’t till I started to move away to get one of the very sick fish that it moved, and then it was only a slow movement.

Our “super” fish is acting odd as well, but not so much as the others.

We checked the chemicals:
Ammonia: 0
PH: A little Low
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: A little more than 0 (Between 0 and the next level down)

So Nitrate isn’t high enough to do any damage, especially this quick. PH is low, but still shouldn’t have caused this. So the only thought really is way too much stress. So the dead fish was flushed, Stress Zyme added, and the tank light turned back off. Only the morning will show the results, and I’ll either do a water change, or put some PH up into the tank, just enough to raise it a little at a time, over the next week or so to get it into the range it should be.

What is weird is dad should have KNOWN not to do that. I told him next time either let them eat the dead fish or take the fish out/put dead fish into the floating tank for me to handle with when I got home.

I know it is stupid to be this torn up over soem damn fish.....but i am...very much so...fish are the onyl pets i can have, and even though i rather have somethign i can hold and cuddle and what not..fish are the best i can do atm....
