I've been "doctoring" today. My list of doctors just keeps growing and growing - must be an outward sign of the GH..... How many of you have a list of specialists a mile long? This one is a cardiologist. He didn't have too much to say, other than that he'd try to have me ready for Mayo. His assistant was impressive. She asked me a few questions, then within minutes she had copies of tests for the doc from years back from various places, including from a couple of hospitals. I'd had an ultra sound 3 years ago because of the enlarged heart but he said that was too long ago. He's right because I'd put money on it being more enlarged by now! In any case I'll be going back to this cardiologist three more times before I go to Mayo. Now, I'm at the point that each time I take off work, my pay is docked. They're trying to work with me so I can try to make the appointments after school. What really really tickles me is that I have a set of instructions from a cardiologists office that actually instruct me to go out and have a fatty meal during part of one of the stress tests they'll be doing. They specifically suggest McDonalds and Burger King as examples. My system won't know how to react because I've been in McDonalds only twice since the diabetes diagnosis - the first one for a breakfast burrito that I ate only half at a time for breakfast over a 2 day period and the second time to have a diet coke and relax with a fellow teacher who wanted to talk for a while after school.
