    About Me

I have fibromyalgia with depression that is usually under pretty good control (the depression), but I still go through "times". I'm in one right now.

    Interests

I love music, and like to play my guitar, love to learn via reading anything having to do with health, psychology, theology, sociology, inspirational true stories. I love movies and have seen more than I would care to admit. :)

Helen, hey I'm on the Neurontin too, and before you give up, try increasing it to the 3600. I say this…

"I just love to laugh and find humor in everything, as my friend does"... *******I have found the FMer of my dreams... someone that finds humor in everything. If you can't laugh about it, then you'll cry, so you might as well make the best of it, cuz it ain't gonna change the situation if you ain't laughin... gentle hugs, Cheryl

    • Close Fibromyalgia

I have Fibromyalgia with depression as well. It's fair to say that I have chronic fatigue too, since I think that disables me the most. I think I had it for many years, all 3 of these illnesses, and they would all get really bad around that time of the month. I was diagnosed with PMDD, and started taking anti-depressants that helped but not enough, it just got worse as I got older. I made the radical decision of having a Hysterectomy, and that's when it all came full force.

      Treatments

      Cyclobenzaprine Not Working
Made my heart feel like it was going to stop beating.
      Cymbalta Working / Worked
had to go off because it raised my blood pressure, but come to find out, I had already had high blood pressure.
      Lyrica Working / Worked
dealing with some dizziness and fatigue but it's helping with pain, I take 100 mg. twice daily

    • Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I also have depression that I have dealt with for years.

      Treatments

      Prozac Working / Worked
60 millegrams, works better than all of the other anti's I've tried.
      Tramadol Working / Worked
Tramadol helps tremendously with the chronic pain, and even gives me a bit of a boost as far as energy goes, but unfortunately shortlived.
    • Open Depression
      Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

I suffer with FMS (fibromyalgia) and depression. I've had depression for years which I've been taking medication for. I used to have PMDD for most of my life, until surgery for hysterectomy.

      Treatments

      Prozac Working / Worked
60 millegrams worked for long time, but am experiencing some problems with depression lately.
      Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
It's hard to find the right one.
    • Open Diets & Weight Maintenance

      Treatments

      Eat Less Somewhat Helpful
Eat when hungry, stop when satisfied, and keep the body moving at least a half hour every day.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
    • Open Arthritis

Best friend has RA just want to help.

    • Open Healthy Eating

Have quite a bit of knowledge regarding this subject, and as well, can always use more! I am striving to lose about 40 pounds right now.

      Treatments

      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
Inconsistent due to bad days with my fibro, but I do manage to do it when I can.
