Good new of Air Force son's plans. Mood
Wednesday, July 9, 2008

The previous month of June going into early July I was sort of in a blue funk depressive mood,  Various good news from the mainland has come that lift my spirits a little. First, my dearest friend Maria in PA whom and her big Italian family I've known nearly 30 years and been close to, she celebrated her 81 birthday July 3. For several months her lost son came back to be with her in PA after decades of her praying. He worked hard relanscaping her whole yard and did interior redecorating, painting walls replaced carpets & frigerator. Over July 4th weekend her youngest son a successful businessman came from Chicago. Sunday they all drove up to their camp site cabin up in Elk County PA mountains, where I and my family often went for over 20 years and enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear creek. It is my soul place. Her adult sons were able to swim in the creek. While I'm heer in Hawaii, it was an enjoyable vicarious experience to know they visited one of my favorite places--the mountains & creek of Elk Co PA. Tuesday July 8 Maria and her youngest son flew to Chicago while the middle son returend to Florida, having renewed his life. I'm just plain happy for them!

The second good news came from my youngest Airforce son 20 years old in Colorado. This fall he plans to start evening college courses towards his bachelors program in electrical engineering. My son is capable and self discplined. I told him I'm glad he has made wise choices to make something successful of his life (because our family had struggled so much). It helped me get over some of the past traumas we had to escape from and some of my PTSD. My son's new was encouraging and heartening! I felt good inside and nurished from good news. It encourages me to try to do something more with my own life and move on.

The third good news is that my daughter bluesun starts her fibromialgia outreach group soon July 17 at the veterans center. People are joining. I share her excitement!

I just noticed this entry, and I'm so happy for you! I love PA. My grandparents lived in Scranton, and we visited them often from Norfolk, VA when my Dad was in the Navy. I, too, have pleasant thought of going to the lake near the mountains; staying in a cabin, and swimming in the cool water. It was my first experience to swim in fresh water, but I didn't like having rocks on the bottom. I was more accustomed to the beach.
My son started out in electrical engineering. He was just 1 year short of graduating in a 5 year program, when he changed majors. It broke our hearts. More about that later. I'm so happy to hear about your son's decision!

Thank you for reading my journal entry about my AirForce sons plans and my love of Elk County PA. Glad you like PA. Yes theres rocks bottom of the creek. Have to wear reef shoes. You'll get plenty of beaches here in Hawaii. Hope my son sticks by his plans but I trust he has a good head and knows what hes doing. I'm just getting about the internet again and catching up. I hope my friends are patient with me. Thanks again.
