Guess what! My grandchild was born today. The doctor told them several months ago it was a boy...but guess what....it's a GIRL :) Her name is Destiny and she is perfect. I posted more details in my journal. Love you!

Thank you for your prayers :)! I have been on vacation. I think I need a vacation to get over it. Been really busy with family or doctors. My sister & brother were here from out of state for our 30th family reunion. WHAT A BLESSING! It has been hectic but worth every minute of tired & pain! I am blessed with a good, close family. hey hun not doing to well had to have injection in right eye this week laser in left eye next week mri tom low back having shock feeling siting and walking in right leg can not get to neurologist til oct hope all is well would like to see more poetry at writers group hugs cathi

I got a thyroid problem from taking lythium. It caused me to have an excessive thirst and hunger, and I gained 30 lbs. in a month. I stopped taking it, but then after taking in only 1000 calories a day for 2 weeks and not losing(in fact the scale was still going up!), I had my thyroid checked. The medicine messed it up. So now I still take synthroid, but a very small dose. I also noticed that Lyrica caused me to gain 7 lbs. suddenly. Unfortunately, Lyrica really worked like magic. So now I just take Lyrica when I'm in desperate pain. I've always had to watch my weight since I was 14 yrs. old. Obesity runs in my family. I was one of the lucky ones or at least I refused to be fat. My sister had that bariatric surgery done where they made her stomach the size of a pea, but she went through a lot afterwards. It's a terrible recovery.She had to do it, though, because she weighed over 250 lbs., and her health was sliding downhill. My middle sister always fights the same 15-20 lbs., too. I can't eat a lot at one time, but I eat small amounts often or I start to droop. I think I have hypoglycemia.
