Bye Bye Job.. Mood
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 | A General Update story

Well I'm finished at Crabby Joe's, today did me in physically and mentally, both have left me in pain and exhausted. I thanked the manager for the job opportunity, but I don't belong in a place with no breaks, kids horseing around, and to many orders to remember how to cook. Also, no way am I cooking...lol.  I have a memory like an 85 year old, and judging by the age of the kids working there, I'm sure they think I am. I could chop and portion food, clean up a bit, but I'm not going near anything that will burn me, I'm far to much a wimp for that. Also, being a nervous person, I don't have the outgoing personality to handle the stress of this job, fast paced is one thing, but trying to remember things at my age is not so easy anymore.

I think I'll just give myself credit for trying and back to the job bank for me. It really really sucks when your body is shot and you can't do what you want to do job wise. Right now my feet are killing me, my back is in agony and the pain going down my leg and I'm actually dizzy from the neck strain and no food. This was not the right fit for me, oh well, I"m disappointed but I'll live.

For sure you get credit for trying. I would hate that job and I don't have back problems.

Oh, Jitterygirl, I had a job sort of like that when I was in college. I had to quit the first day, too, due to everything you just said. It doesn't matter how old you are - it is PAINFUL when you aren't used to moving around that much. A huge strain on the body. But you tried!

No job is worth your health, I'm relieved to hear you're through with it. There has to be something better. Are there any call centers where you live? Something like 1-500-flowers where people call in and you wouldn't make outgoing calls might be ok. Or could you work with young children? like in a daycare center? Or maybe an animal shelter? I will continue to think about this an pass on other ideas. I wish you strength and courage.
