Well, I ended up staying home from work today. Once I went back to bed, I slept like a log till 5:30 am. Then I went back to bed about 6:30 am and slept through till 10 when Kathy, the nurse from the doc's office called. She'd had a long talk with my doc and we came up with a game plan for next time. I was pleased with what they came up with and feel comfortable for the next infusion.
Its impossible to get the same nurse every time for infusion because they rotate. Some are part-time as well, so I think that the inconsistency is something to think about. For those of you on infusions, do you get the same nurse every time??
Anyway, I still feel worn out and achey, so I'm so glad that I could stay home today. I'm sure I'll pay for it tomorrow with double the work ! but I still needed some recoup time. I'm going to go lay on the couch and watch a movie with son, who is off today too! See, I get some great time with him before he moves out on August 1!! ![]()
Have a blessed day!

Hello my friend. I do get the same nurse, but my infusion is done at the doctors office. I could go to the hospital and have it done, but I prefer it done in the office so if there is a problem my doc is right down the hall. The hospital is on the same campus, so I am good!! Hey want to come to ST Louis once a month for your infusion? I know a good doc!!!
I am glad they came up with a plan for the next time, that should make you feel a bit more comfortable. Enjoy your movie hugs sandy

I'm happy to see "better." Here's wishing that it gets more better soon.

Sandy, my infusion is in the doc's office. He is right down the hall and the hospital is down the street. Didn't get to watch the movie. Got caught up on some paperwork. I'm going for a nap, maybe the movie after. Back to work tomorrow. Glad yesterday is over! Thanks to all for all the support.

Maria,
I'm glad to hear that you were able to take the time away from work to have some down time and recoup from yesterday! I'm sure Rob enjoyed having you home with him as well. It's too bad that you can't have the same nurse each time doing your infusions, but, it does sound promising that the doctor and this other nurse have come up with a game plan that you are in agreement with. Anything that will be easier on you is what needs to happen. You and I both know that in our field there are those nurses who would rather not be bothered with the patients and one wonders why they entered the medical field in the first place, but, then there are those like you and me, who absolutely love other people and we feel honored each day to share what our Lord has given us and feel it is our duty and priviledge to care for our patients in the most humane and professional way we can. My prayers are with you Maria. Much love, Jami
