Grief Group: Panic Mood
Thursday, May 15, 2008

Grief Group Topic:  Sometimes we feel panicky.  Last night we read the chapter on feeling panic, usually at the beginning of grief, about our mental health and loss of control.  I shared that my panic was lessened when I accepted that I was indeed in a grief process and quit trying to fight it so much.

I also shared about how earlier on I decided to rate my grief on a scale, so I could see that it goes up and down.  Not every day was so overwhelming, so that reassured me.  The chapter also talked about our loss of productivity at work.  I shared my relief that I'm doing better on that score.  And finally, the chapter talked about not wallowing in gloom.  I shared that I am guilty of isolating, which is scaring me a little.
