OK - I called gf about 10.45pm. Conversation was fine for 10 mins or so then got onto a text i had sent earlier re going out on Friday for a drink with some mates in a nearby town and I had invited her to come with me and stay over (with me) at mates house. This sounds so trivial yet seemed to trigger quite a reaction in her. It was a heated conversation, not very enjoyable, i felt on the defensive a lot. The outcome was she will consider and let me know.
I don't see why this had to be such a heated debate. I think we may have a communication issue. Not sure what this was about for her? I think she may have made an assumption about what would be happening on Friday night (based on information I had given this morning) and had built expectations around that. Her reaction would be consistent with this.
I will try to explore later why she felt dissappointed in me. This may shed light on the communication issue if there is one? Will update later.
