Was really worried about being taken off Elmiron 5 weeks ago as I saw it as a possible long term relief for my condition and wanted to stay on it …

About Me
Just had to reduce my hours to part time. Can't really afford to but, at the moment, can't work full time. I just end up being off! At least this way I have some control and I can cope with the pain better.
Interests
I love my family and friends but also travelling, food, movies, music, art and dance. Anything thats creative..! I love my wonderful man (who is so understanding and looks after me alot!) Plus love my 3 beautiful kitty cats and our pup.

I know how you feel!! My pain is so much better but I always have to fight myself to NOT get an alcohol drink b/c I know it'll kill me later. I hope the pain wears off soon and you'll be able to have a good weekend! Take care

Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
I was diagnosed as having IC 2 years ago after having a cystoscopy, dilation and distention, although have suffered pain and frequency for many years before diagnosis.
Treatments
- Bladder Distention Working / Worked
- It worked for about a year but then I went into a horrible flare for about 8 weeks. I thought I would never be free of the pain. However, the last 4 weeks I have been feeling much better so I keep my fingers crossed!
- Elmiron Not Working
- Have been taken off Elmiron by my specialist as it was causing havoc with my tummy. Been off Elmiron for about 5/6 weeks and have been feeling much better. I am off to see a top specialist in London on tuesday to see whether there are any other treatment options available for me.
