About Me
I am a 50-year-old mother of one. My daughter is 24 and a mother to my wonderful granddaughter, who is 18-months-old. I have been married to my husband for 26 years. He owns a dog grooming business and I am his extra set of hands. I am on SSDI for chronic depression and anxiety disorder. I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I watched my sister-in-law go through wls and one of my friends and decided it was time for me to change my life. My husband watched me for two years and decided if he wanted to keep up with me he better have the surgery too. He is doing so well! I am struggling with some poundage that I have gained over the holidays, but spring is here and I need to get my dogs and me back to walking and working off the weight. It's true that wls is a "tool" and that you will still struggle with maintenance. It isn't a quick fix or the "easy way out". My biggest advice is CHEW, CHEW, CHEW your food!!
Interests
I love to cross stitch and crochet. I enjoy water aerobics at the YMCA. Thinking about getting a personal trainer to help me get back on track.

I’m With You
Well, how did the Doc's appt. go? Will you have some resolution to your feet soon? How's everything else going today?
Good Luck
Hi I had my shoulder opperated on over a year and a half ago. You have a long recovery ahead of you. I wish you all the best and remember to do your PT. Also a great trick for the 6 weeks post opp. LOTS of pillows around you in bed.

Hi! Here's a hug for you! You and I, I believe? do not live terribly far from each other. I am in Cooperstown,NY, near the Baseball Hall of Fame. I read your profile, and I believe you and I could become good friends, if that is ok with you? Please have a great day, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Take good care, and I hope to hear from you again. Thanks, Carol

Hello. I'm a new member, but also a couple (4) years post-op and have also gained back 20 pounds in the past 3 years. Just this month I have decided to get back on track, watch the snacks, eat more fruit, drink more water, AND GET MORE EXERCISE. If I can resume better habits, you can to. You already know how and you know you can. OThers' comments about checking out new exercise options sound quite reasonable. Just relax, take it a day at a time, and don't try to fix everything in one day. You'll get there. Speaking as a 55 year old, this rebirth is worth all the difficulty involved. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Take care!
