Close Brain / CNS Tumors
Type: Otherdiagnosed w/adenoid cystic carcinoma of the base of my tongue iin 2004..surgery in 2005...all ok until Feb. 2008 same tumor now in liver (2 spots) and 6 small tumors in lungs....am done with treatment...now we wait and see? am optimistic...fell good..just tired
Treatments
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- surgery and radiation for tongue replaced most of my tongue with graft from leg....still have trouble eating and swallowing and pronouncing "g" as in God and "K" as in Kathy still working on it...tired a lot...not much pain..said I would not speak nor eat ...but I do both! I go to IU Medical in Undianapolis..had to get new teeth and partial..metal plate in chin
- Radiotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- PET scan found 2 tumors in liver and 6 tiny tumors...2 in each lung...drs are just watching lung area and concentrating on liver

2 spots found in liver...reoccurance of adenoid cystic carcinoma from 2004
Treatments

- not much fun...fitted into a body cast..diaphram flattened and given oxygen...94 pics..taken 2hours then radiation dosage...had to be exact..blood work and scans each time..had 2 treatments...massive doses...so far no liver damage ..enzymes are great...tumors havent spread...but it takes a few weeks to actually tell what is happening.. IU Med. Center in Indianapolis....no pain..well..a little...but just tired...
